June 7 Kahnawake to Hawkesbury

The 65 ft. lock at Carillon on the Ottawa River
This lock was built between 1960 and 1963

The door of the lock drops down as the boat is tied to a floating dock as the chamber is filled.

We waited as the lock filled and the stairs disappeared The lock keepers speak to you in French until you yell back in English.

Looking back at the lock. Very windy and wavy.

We arrived in Hawkesbury in time for a gorgeous sunset. Stayed moored along a wall in Hawkesbury. They have electricity and water as well as interned access.

There are tourist information centers at most towns accessible from the boat.
