June 29 to July 30 Peterborough to Bobcaygen

Passed a Church along the way BUILT ON A ROCK accessible by boat.
For every rock you see on the water, there are many just under the boat. Steer carefully

Fascinated by the homes built on rock islands. boat home

Did we mention it was cold and windy??

Even the Beer store, which is state run, had beautiful flowers.

These kayakers pitched tents for the evening at one of the lock walls

A view from the lock at Bobcaygen on July 1 Canada Day

Approaching Peterborough Lift Lock This was quite an experience. It was completed in 1904. The lock pan weighs 13200 tons when full. Almost like an amusement park ride. A very slow one.
Drive the boat in a pan and when the top one is filled with additional water it begins to lower and we raise to the higher level.
View from the top. as we are raising.
It is hard to believe we are so high.

Looking at the lock wall as we begin to raise.

If you haven't already realized it this is quite an experience
