August 4-7 Still on the Illinois
Starved Rock Marina to Havana Marina The marina had rental cottages across from our slip and I noticed the 4-plex of cottages was actually on a floating dock as well as all the other buildings.
As we were leaving for Illinois Yacht Club, our water problem reappeared and the port engine again would not start. Lucky for us, a mechanic was on duty and familiar with engine water intrusion . John called Yanmar they chatted with our mechanic and we spent the day getting the engine repaired. Two weeks later we found another PDQ had the same problem 5 miles away the same week. Must be something in the water.
It is hard to believe such a peaceful river has so much commercial traffic.

The Illinois River Yacht club was a great stop after the last few days. Beautiful clubhouse, dining room and lounge, as well as swimming pool. Reciprocal with our Captains Club.
Sometimes we get homesick for Ft. George.
We arrived at Tall Timbers Marina to find a fun group of boaters on vacation headed to St. Louis and Grafton. (Two of our next stops)
Some of the group stopped at our boat for a glass of wine after dinner. What a surprise, our boat would have wine.
