5/7 Kilmarnock Va, to Patomac River 4.5 hours

We easily left Indian Creek Yacht Club in Kilmarnock Va. The winds picked up sooner than the weatherman predicted .The Chesapeake became sloppy and we found ourselves in 3 to 4 foot seas. While avoiding the Potomac's shoals and and heading into the waves, disaster struck. The new davit cables snapped and the dinghy partially fell into the water. The boat was so rocky,we put Cutter's life preservers well as our own on as John leaned over the back and secured the dinghy for towing.
We continued a very slow 8 miles in 3 to 5 ft seas up the Potomac to sheltered waters of Point Lookout Marina. This was a very sheltered area as winds gusted to 50 mph.

Mother's Day was spent quietly waiting for smoother water and fighting with the Internet.
