5/6 Atlantic Yacht Basin Va to Deltaville Va. 6 hrs.

Wanted to get an earl start, but Vicky noticed a huge ship's store. We toook care of a "5 minute" repair to the outside shower. 4 hours later everything was fixed. The bridge adjacent to the marina opened on the hour. We just made it at 1 p.m. and encountered our first lock and 2 hours of no wake zones to Norfolk. The first of many locks we will encounter.

A lock has gates in the front and back to raise or lower the water level. We pulled into the lock and held the lines onto pilings while the back gate closed. The front gate slowly opened and the water lowered several feet. We then proceeded toward Norfolk.
